10. Arslan Senki

A soft prince who’s crown was taken from him. Arslan relies on strong allies and strategists to save his life in the coup d’état and plays his cards in an attempt to regain the throne of Ekbatana. The story takes place in the region of persia, in the classical era and the journey shows a young, weak and kind boy taking the steps to become a worthy heir to the throne under  the supervision of loyalties of his father. A heartening story with strong character development at the center stage and plenty of cunning plots; political maneuvering. We get a taste of the burden he carries, his struggles, experiences, philosophies and partake in all the relationships which contribute to his growth.

9. Overlord

Following the trends of Log horizon and Sword art online, Overlord explores the life of Satoshi Hino, or his in game username “Ainz Ooal Gown” as he one day finds himself stuck in his favorite video game. Here’s the twist: no other human player is playing with him. His in game friends have also disappeared. But every MMO character comes alive and has their own will. Feeling out of this world, “Ainz” continues his role play and finds pleasure in his explorations. He keeps his eyes out for any changes, any clues or any other original player to explain his situation. In his plight, or rather, in his pleasure, he decides on an epic quest of world domination.

8. Diamond no Ace

Sawamura Eijun, a class clown with big talk gets scouted out for his unusual pitching and gets accepted by Seido High. He dares to dream of being the ace (pitcher) of the team (most important player) but starts off rough. Having come from a small highschool with an almost volunteer based team, he never tasted coaching and actual practice. But once he gets to Seido he tastes hardship and the meaning of hard work. He also faces off with skilled foes in the high school league of baseball. It’s a story of perseverance, sportsmanship and competition as the young man learns humility and fights his way up the baseball team.

7. Noragami

Big or small, deitie across the world have temples. People pay their respects or worship through them. Yato was a “god”, yet he was forgotten by his peoples and didn’t have a shrine anymore.  Frustrated and greedy, he takes small jobs in exchange for homage and prayers to regain recognition and respect. In his journey, he meets this young girl who’s soul freely leaves her body and makes friends with her. Little did she know she was vulnerable to hungry spirits. He becomes her guardian and they spend their time fighting spirits and on adventure.

6. Lupin III (2015)

Con-artists leads a team consisting of a samurai warrior, a mafioso gunman sharpshot and another fellow flirtatious con-artist to thieve the world of its riches.They extend their operations to mission-impossible like status and best the investigator officers at every turn. Lupin being cheeky, friendly and smart, he makes for a great thief, a leader, a con artist and a comedian honestly. A great watch for light-hearted entertainment and for those with a keen eye of old style art. Also a blessing for those who miss the old Lupin III.

5. Parasyte: the Maxim

One night, creatures descend from the sky and take over human beings. The victims of the takeovers are lost forever but the creatures, the parasytes gain control over their host. Hungry and curious, they imitate the humans as best they can to stay undercover and feed off of people. That same night, Izumi Shinichi, a nerdy teenager gets attacked by what he thinks is a snake. Little did he know how lucky he was: A parasyte had failed to take over his brains. Unfortunately, or fortunately, it did win over his right hand; Migi. Together, they are a union of natural enemies but neither can kill the other one off. A unique story about how unified enemies negotiate and come to terms with one another as they survive and fight in this newly infested world of parasites.

4. Re:Zero

Transported to a fantasy world, Subaru, is excited to experience his new life. He has no idea where he landed, but he was surrounded by unearthly creatures and magic. Although, joyful he was not aware of the hell that was awaiting him. In his explorations he encounters Emilia, a magic user, and potential ruler and instantly falls in love. He decides to accompany and serve her. Ever since his encounter, his life always gets reset to a checkpoint. This leaves him trapped in a cycle of agony as he faces off against countless enemies seeking to end their lives. An emotional journey as Subaru’s every choice could lead to death of his surroundings, his loved ones or himself.

3. Steins Gate

Mad scientist, Rintaro Okabe and his team spend their time looking for a scientific breakthrough with their microwave machine. For one, it can transform bananas into a jelly goo. One day they find out that it can also send texts back in time. During their research they found out that SERN, a scientific organisation has put down evil plans and the Rintaro team intends to put down their group.

2. Death Parade

New to the Quindecim bar, barmaid Chiyuki learns what fate has to hand out to people at their death. Some go to hell, some to paradise but some come to this Quindecim bar to have a drink, re-experience their past, discuss their decisions and things they hold onto over a cup and a game. One of the most creative plots and beautifully animated shows of 2015, viewers get to experience standalone “personal” stories and how people are “judged”. We also love to see Chiyuki learn life as a barmaid and witness the beautiful and ugly parts to people’s hidden lives.

1. Bakuman

The true inception to the whole art, bakuman displays the story of two middle school students who decide to embark on their journey as mangakas or manga artists. They spend their days and nights learning about the art and practicing with the hopes of one day making a living off of being professional mangaka. They face strong competition in the industry and really fight to survive and set their ambitious goals at the top.
